The Betty-Greif school in Pfarrkirchen, Bavaria, has been a pioneering institution for special needs education in the Rottal-Inn district since the 1980s. The school has 10 classes, a one day class and also accommodates preparatory groups of 10 pupils at a time. With 150 pupils, the school building had reached its maximum capacity. The complex needed to be entirely renovated and extended by 450 m².
Rockpanel façade boards, the ideal choice for every aspect
The assignment was given to COPLAN AG, an engineering firm from Eggenfelden with wide experience of building and renovating schools. The project included an extension of the school building with a west and a north wing, both with a flat roof. The west wing was connected to the existing building and an extra storey was added above the north wing. As a result, the existing playground was not only extended, but also partially covered.
